With the rapid development of COVID-19, we’ve made it a top priority to help ensure the health and safety of our employees, customers, affiliates, and communities in which we serve. With the unpredictable and fluid situation around COVID-19, the world is navigating through an uncertain period with few precedents. Our thoughts are with our customers and ATS communities, people affected, and healthcare professionals who are working around the clock to help people in need.

As we have seen, every day brings more information, but at times, more uncertainty. Will My cloud Services be Impacted?  
We currently do not expect any disruption of our services due to the COVID-19 outbreak. ATS cloud computing services are equipped with a high degree of automation, resiliency, and state-of-the-art self-healing capability.

Should we Expect ATS Implementation Analysts to continue to travel on-site to conduct installs?
In light of COVID-19 ATS have restricted travel, to all customer sites, until such time as its deemed safe to do so. Once we receive clear direction, we will modify our product to adhere to new requirements in the most expeditious and accurate manner possible.  Our personnel are equipped with laptops, VPN access, and conferencing tools to be able to seamlessly work remotely. We remain committed to progressing toward planned milestones and providing you support and services through the use of various online collaboration tools.

Do You Have a Business Continuity Plan?
ATS has a Business Continuity Plan in place. We continuously to assess and appropriately respond to the crisis as it evolves. Of course, everyone’s health and welfare are a priority, as most ATS employees are working from home. Increased Functionality: ATS Enhances Its Time and Attendance Shift Differential Premium Pay Codes

Toronto, ON, Canada – May 14, 2020 – Apex Time Solutions -ATS a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) Workforce Management built in the cloud, today announced, some enhancements to its Shift Differential and Premium Pay Code structures within ATSTimeWorkOnDemand. This latest enhancement will help ATS customers achieve better business outcomes through newAPI plugins, state-of-the-art integration and App workflow.

In an effort to show appreciation for employees who are working very long hours during the COVID-19 pandemic, several grocery chains, food manufacturing and other essential companies across the Canadian landscape, have raised wages. This wage increase comes in the form of a $2.00 or $3.00 dollar per hour premium and — in some cases, the increase, is in the form of flat rate that’s paid to the employees at the end of a pay period. Healthcare has also instituted a similar pay increase policy that’s inline with others in its industry.

Now while these companies have said that the wage increase will only last for 2-3 months, they deserve some kudos for this. Our kudos goes out to: Sobey’s, Loblaws, Walmart Canada, Fiesta Farms, Metro, Longo’s and other independent grocery stores.

For ATS customers, in the grocery and healthcare sector who have given their employee this wage increase, the best way to configure this is to create a work rule with a shift differential pay code. Once that’s done, you will then assign the Work Rule, which in turn — will allocate the Premium Pay for the shift in the Assignment Rules tab. All of ATS time clocks are equipped to handle employee shift differential payments.
