Apex Time Solutions launches Eco-Friendly Data Collectors

Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive:
RoHS(Directive 2002/95/EC) restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment that will ultimately be sold in theEuropean Union. It restricts the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, poly brominated biphenyls (PBBs), and poly brominated diphenylsethers (PBDEs).

In the United States, California has passed similar legislation that becomes effective January 1, 2007. There are numerousother states considering similar legislation. A copy of our data supplier’s statement of RoHS Compliance can be made available to ourcustomers.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) Directive:
WEEE (Directive 2002/96/EC) sets collection,recycling and recovery targets for all types of electrical and electronic goods. The directive assigns responsibility for the disposal of wasteelectrical and electronic equipment on the manufacturers of such equipment. Complying companies should establish an infrastructure for collectingWEEE, in such a way that “Users of electrical and electronic equipment from private households should have the possibility of returning WEEE at leastfree of charge”. Also, the companies are compelled to use the collected waste in an ecological-friendly manner, either by ecological disposal or byreuse/refurbishment of the collected WEEE.
